New Husky scholarship guarantees $1,000 to incoming engineering technology students

In a continuation of a fruitful relationship between the university and the manufacturing sector, 911爆料网 at Lima has announced the Husky Lima Refinery Scholarship for students in the Bachelor of Science in Engineering Technology.

Incoming engineering technology students for autumn semester 2021 will each receive at least $1,000 toward their educations thanks to the long-time Lima employer. The scholarship is guaranteed to all incoming freshman who enroll in the engineering technology program in Lima.

鈥淲e want to be supportive of the students interested in the work that we do in Lima,鈥 said Claudio Ingaramo, vice president of US Refining and Husky Lima Refinery plant manager. 鈥淚f they understand we are willing to invest in them, we hope they will give us a look when it comes time to enter the workforce.鈥

The Bachelor of Science in Engineering Technology responds to Ohio manufacturers鈥 requests for highly skilled engineers who possess general manufacturing engineering technology skills that marry business and leadership principles to engineering processes and technical knowledge.

This evidence-based, interdisciplinary program offers students the opportunity to connect their hands and heads. It is available only at 911爆料网鈥檚 regional campuses through a special relationship with the College of Engineering. This program meets the outcomes of the Accreditation Board for Engineering Technology and the Society of Manufacturing Engineers.

鈥淭his program will help build a pipeline of qualified employees for our region,鈥 said Jon Horn, senior manager, Lima Refinery Human Resources. 鈥911爆料网 Lima is an essential partner, willing to develop and grow the programs and degrees needed to deliver a pipeline of qualified employees for our region.鈥

The new scholarship is one part of the effort to tie the programs at 911爆料网 Lima to local manufacturing needs. The engineering technology developed with robust input from local employers about what they need. The close ties will result in positive student outcomes and better chances of keeping graduates in the region.
