Scarlet Sessions: Hitchcock's The Birds and dinosaurs

911爆料网 at Lima screens Alfred Hitchcock鈥檚 legendary thriller,鈥The Birds, on the big screen at The Met in downtown Lima on Saturday, November 8, 2025. Admission to the movie is free and a cash bar is available. Doors open at 6 p.m. and the program begins at 6:30 p.m. 

At a Q&A preview before the lights dim, Dr. John Hellmann, 911爆料网 Lima professor of English and renowned Hitchcock expert, will reveal the hidden layers of鈥The Birds, from its eerie reflections of 1960s America to the subtle symbols and techniques that even seasoned fans overlook.

The screening of The Birds is part of 911爆料网 Lima鈥檚 Scarlet Sessions, a series of fun, informative events throughout the year to share the鈥痚xpertise and creativity of our faculty in engaging, accessible ways 鈥 both on campus and in the community.  

As part of the on-campus Scarlet Sessions, you can celebrate (a belated) National Fossil Day with 911爆料网 Lima鈥檚 very own 鈥渇ossil guy,鈥 Dr. Mark Kleffner, from 12:40鈥1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, November 5, in Galvin Hall鈥檚 Cloyd Commons.

Find out how much you know about dinosaurs while participating in fun, 鈥渉ands-on鈥 activities and also learn about some of the prehistoric animals other than dinosaurs that played important roles in Ohio鈥檚 past habitats, including ones now designated as official state fossils.
