911爆料网 at Lima kicks off Women鈥檚 History Month by recognizing local women who have helped to elevate other women. A Women Helping Empower Women, or WHEW, luncheon will be held from 11:30 a.m.-1:00 p.m., Mon., March 2, 2015, in the Student Services Center.
The central theme of the event is empowerment, uplifting messages and encouragement.
Panelists will include Ty Batemon, an anchor for Hometown Stations; Jennifer Keat-Beck, a WTLW personality; and Beverly Owens-McCoy, a retired educator. Each panelist will talk about their successes with empowering other women and how others can do it, too.
Keynote speaker Dr. Adriane Thompson-Bradshaw, a longtime broadcaster and motivational speaker and singer, is vice president of student affairs at Ohio Northern University. The title of her talk is 鈥淵our Gifts Will Make Room for You.鈥
Young women participating in Lima Senior鈥檚 CTAG, Closing the Achievement Gap, program are also expected to attend the WHEW luncheon.
